St. Richards Playschool was established in Atherton in 1979, and is still run today by the founding member Mrs Susan Cook.

Susan (N.N.E.B.) and her long established staff have continued their dedications and commitment to the playschool by furthering their qualifications and training in order to provide not only a professional service but a happy caring environment.

So successful and highly regarded is St. Richards Playschool that the children who attended during its early years are now bringing their own families to enjoy what they once experienced in learning and development through the power of play and interaction with their peers.

Play is the natural way of reinforcing learning, it should be nurtured, extended and valued. It promotes independence, concentration, problem-solving and a positive attitude to learning.
