If you need to find out anything, please ask me or get a message to me. Iım a one man band this year so itıs not likely that anyone else could answer your query.

School News
The Governors of St Richard's are considering establishing a Pre-school for children 3 years old up to starting school. It would be on school premises and run during term-time. A form is in the Narthex for you to fill in if you would wish to send your child to the group, so we can establish a need for the group.

Thank You
The Committee of the Sacred Heart Parish Centre would like to thank all who attended the charity night in aid of Wigan Cancer Care Unit. Thanks to John Whelan who had a sponsored 'headshave', and to Margaret Gray who has done a sponsored walk. A special thanks to all who contributed toward the staggering total raised of £1306.00.

Information

Follow up Deanery Day
Wednesdays 15th & 22nd May from 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm at Holy Family Parish Hall, Boothstown
We begin to look at the future and how parishes will work with only 3 or 4 priests working in the Deanery. What is our role as Christians, as Catholics, and how will we bring Godıs Kingdom here on earth ? Everyone is welcome . . . it does not matter if you were not at the meeting in December. Young or old, Catholic or not, those who attend church regularly and those who celebrate special occasions and major life events. . . are welcome. Your voice and your thoughts are needed !

Start Time of School Day to Change
St Mary's hope to change the beginning of the school day starting approximately at 8.30 am and ending at 3 pm, rather than the present time of 9.30 am - 4 pm. The renewal of the contracts of bus companies this year provides the Governors with the ideal time to make changes for September. The arguments on educational grounds for change are compelling and the Governors do not want to miss this window of opportunity. The Governors cordially invite parents and teachers to attend a meeting on Monday 20th May at 7.15 pm in the Lower School Dining Room, to discuss this proposal.

October 1st 1927
Were you around then, when the Foundation Stone of the church was laid ? This year the church building will be 75 years old. Any ideas how to mark this moment in the life of our parish community? How would you like to celebrate this?
