Our Parish Tomorrow!
The Archbishop would like each Parish in the Archdiocese to look at the
challenges and the pastoral priorities for the future. Information arrived
during my break and so we are now playing catch up with other parishes
in the deanery.
First we must draw up a Mission Statement from which an Action Plan for
the future can be drawn up.
Fortunately the audit which was taken last year by parishioners, can be
used as information to begin the process.
Next we have to look ahead at what the parish could be doing and what
help and systems will need to be put in place to ensure that we are proclaiming
the Gospel, teaching and living out the Gospel Message in a rapidly changing
world.
On 5th May 1999 the priests drew up a list of concerns (which is available
at the door,). What do you feel ought to be our priorities and concerns
here in Atherton / Hindsford ?
Please look at the list of concerns and mark off your top 3 priorities
then hand them in after Mass.
There is a meeting at St Joseph's tomorrow at 7.30 pm to discuss the Diocesan
Mission Statement. If you wish to attend the meeting then please let me
know.
