Our Parish Tomorrow! Results . . .
Please take a sheet to see what concerns and priorities won the day. On the reverse side I have printed some of the comments made by you on the sheets. The three Deanery concerns are nos 1, 9 and 21. These reflect closely the votes in St Richard's and Sacred Heart. They will now be taken to the Archdiocesan meeting.

Modern Day 'Fagin's ' at work!
I have heard this week of three parishioners who have been burgled; it has also been in the local press about Atherton's most vulnerable being targetted. In one instance two young boys aged between 14 - 16 drilled a lock to enter the home of an 89 year old, then rifled through drawers in one room before going into the room where this person was and rifled through their belongings, stealing valuables and money, in front of them. The Police are aware there is a team working in the area targetting the elderly and disabled. Often people leave their door 'on the catch' for access to Home Care Assistants, Meals on Wheels even Eucharistic Ministers because they know they are expected. DON"T DO IT ! The Meals on Wheels operatives are telling their clients to keep their door shut until they get there after one elderly gentleman returned to the door after they had left thinking they had forgotten something, only to find someone asking for a glass of water - whilst their accomplice was around the back! If you are elderly or disabled take heed! Never leave doors open or unlocked for anyone, and don't leave a key in the door where it can be seen through a window. If you have a vulnerable neighbour - keep your eyes open . . .for their sake.
