will be as Second Collection for the work of LAMP.
Taize
Prayer . . .
This Summer some of our young people went to Taize, an ecumenical youth
retreat centre in France. They have been so impressed by what they saw
and heard that they want to share that experience with others and so
we are starting our own Taize Prayer Group in the Deanery on the 3rd
Sunday of each month. The first meeting will be at St Josephıs at 7.30
pm on 18th November - if you want to know more about Taize or Taize
Prayer come along . . . Fr Ronnieıs your man for any questions.
BONFIRE
NIGHT
Sadly, the Health and Safety issues, plus the need for insurance, has
made bonfires and firework displays a matter for professional Pyrotechnical
Display Companies. The site of our bonfire and fairly loose safety arrangements
means that an accident is likely at some stage, and so it is with regret
that from this year, I will not now be building and lighting bonfires,
or setting off fireworks in a public way.
Following
Hopes &Dreams. . . .
Churches Together in Atherton plan to present ³Pharoah to Freedom² next
year and are looking for volunteers, from stage hands to actors and
singers. The first read-through is on Wednesday January 9th at Central
Methodist Church, High Street. They are also looking for an Administrator/Coordinator.
For more info about this position please contact Rev Adrian Perry 01942
259605 or John Barlow (address with Fr Cooper).
