(also known as Richard
of Wyche, of Droitwich, of Burford) Born at Droitwich (formerly called
Wyche), Worchestershire, England, in 1197; died at Dover, England, 1253;
canonized 1262; feast day April 3rd.
Richard was a man of strong character, a scholar, but sensible and practical as well, energetic, kind, modest about his own powers, cheerful and courageous. He loved people and was greatly beloved by them.
